Let us Pray Together

“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” (Isaiah 41:10)

Often we hear people say or someone utters these sentences, “There is no God if there is such a “ONE” why he allows sufferings?? God speaks through events, persons and even sometimes through a Pandemic too. Think about the Heroic men and women who are just working day and night for the betterment of the whole world. Many of us are at a distance, thinking and talking about this pandemic. But those front line workers, they know that they are standing amidst the “Deadly Virus”, but they’re the real mirrors of God’s love. They are speaking the language of God by their merciful actions. We have to take this into our meditation today, “They too have a family, all of them, Doctors, Nurses, truck drivers, cleaners, scientists, lab-technicians etc., and all our fellow women and men working in shopping Malls. Let us take this to our mediation, from 31 December 2019 to 23 April 2020 – Just around 115 days, think about the death tolls.

There are few tireless champions, some doctors and nurses have never been at home after this huge eruption of this pandemic in fear of taking the virus with them.

“Kind words can be short and easy to speak, but their echoes are truly endless.”-Mother Teresa

Of course, you may ask me, what can we do? Only we could pray for them!! Yes indeed!! That is the immediate need for them, which is very important to strengthen their drooping spirit!! It is because many of them are very low in mind, desperate and fed up, after witnessing thousands and thousands of death

“We need to find God, and we cannot find Him in noise and restlessness. God is the friend of silence. See how nature—trees, flowers, grass—grows in silence; see the stars, the moon and the sun, how they move in silence. We need silence to be able to touch souls.” Silent prayers are powerful. It would surely touch the hearts and minds of everyone who needs special prayers today. So, you may arrange a particular time with your family members (Our parish family) please try to fix an agreed time and pray as a group for the world. Let us use this lockdown in a meaningful way. Let us be united in prayers with our Holy Father Pope Francis. Let us follow the diocesan links and updates for prayers and spiritual activates. Together we can become more reliable, more united and more faithful and more victorious over this pandemic.

Thanks indeed for sustaining our faith unceasingly to the level of embracing everyone in our daily prayers.
Fraternally yours in Christ, Fr. Joseph Figurado
